Topline
Products Named Finalist in International Competition
for ‘Most Innovative Packaging’ with Designs
for Revlon and Pacific World
HBA Global Expo has selected Topline Products as a finalist
in its annual International Package Design Awards (IPDA)
competition. Topline was recognized in two package design
categories for the year’s most innovative packaging:
“Revlon Custom Eyes” (Cosmetic Mass) and
“geoGirl” by Pacific World (Green Packaging).
The IPDA winners will be announced at the HBA Global
Expo & Conference, June 28-30 at the Jacob J. Javits
Convention Center in New York. The IPDA is the only
design award presentation celebrating the year’s
most innovative packaging in all of beauty’s product
categories. “The IPDA nomination is exciting
for us because it means we are being measured against
hundreds of outstanding packaging designs internationally,”
said Charles Chang, Topline President. “In the
beauty industry, innovation is key for success. We are
pleased to be recognized as a leading innovator of cosmetics
packaging – an achievement we can never take for
granted. We also realize this recognition would not
be possible without the support and close collaboration
of our partner clients.”
Topline produced the packaging for geoGirl’s range
of paper wrapped, eco-friendly cosmetic products. The
range includes eye shadow compacts, concealer, mascara,
loose mineral powder, lipstick, roll-on lip balm, brow
gel and bodymists. For Revlon, Topline was challenged
to convert Revlon’s dream of creating an instructional
eye make-up kit that would contain all you need (eye
liner, base, contour, color and highlighter) to create
a complete look according to your mood and teach you
how to apply like an expert. Topline found a solution
by using an unconventional manufacturing/pressing technique
that allowed different powder textures, pearl levels
and formulations to be combined in the same pan and
then be pressed together with an embossed surface pattern.
